Limpopo Department of Health & Student Nurse Training 2026

The Limpopo College of Nursing is now taking applications for its 2026 Student Nurse Training Program. The program is open to South African citizens who want to become nurses. Students will study for three years to get their Diploma in Nursing with a focus on general nursing care. This training falls under Circular 44 of 2025 and is managed by the Limpopo Department of Health. If you want to become a nurse this is your chance to start your career in healthcare. The program will give you all the basic skills you need to work as a qualified nurse.

Overview Of The Program

After completing the program students will get a Diploma in General Nursing. The diploma is approved by a partner university that checks the quality. With this diploma students can register as nurses with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).

Who All Can Apply – Eligibility

All the applicants who want to apply for the program must meet the following eligibility criteria :

  • Be South African citizens.
  • Hold a Senior Certificate with endorsement (Matric exemption) or a National Senior Certificate – Bachelor’s Degree Pass.
  • Have a minimum of 24 points on the rating scale (excluding Life Orientation).

All the candidates who are applying must also have minimum numbers as mentioned below :

  • English: HG E or Level 4
  • Biology/Life Sciences: HG E or Level 4
  • Physical Sciences: HG E / Level 4
  • Mathematics: HG E / Level 4
  • Mathematical Literacy: Level 5

There is a non refundable fees of R150 this is your admission fees and this fees is only accepted online no cash would be accepted. 

Training & Campus

As you all are very well aware that for each and every program you need to get under the training sessions that are been conducted by the experts and the campus where these training sessions would take place are been mentioned below.

After finishing the program students will become registered General Nurses through SANC. They will get their official nursing license and can start working as qualified healthcare professionals.

Selection Procedure

The candidates who come out passing and fulfilling all the criteria would be called via telephone or would receive an e-mail . The selected candidates would be required to sign a bursary allowance agreement with the Limpopo Department of Health.
