Who Can Apply ? Eligibility
To apply for the bursary the applicant must meet the following requirements.
- Applicant must be a South African citizen
- Applicant must be entering a 1-year or final year of a Masters-level qualification in Economics or a related field in 2026
- Applicant must have a strong interest in research and a passion for development
- Applicant must have achieved a minimum overall GPA of 65% or higher in the latest academic year
- Applicant must be an Employment Equity candidate
- Applicant must demonstrate financial need
- Applicant must possess the following skills:
- Excellent writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Advanced English language skills (verbal and written)
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Knowledge of Stata and household survey data analysis (advantageous)
- Applicant must be able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Preference will be given to students residing in Cape Town to fully benefit from the mentorship and internship opportunities
